Some MPs, ministers have forgotten their roots: Mihintale Chief Incumbent



  • What happens at the end of the day is, that people start making complaints

Some MPs and ministers have forgotten that how they have got their ministerial portfolios. They must remember that it was because of the President and the Prime Minister. The ministers  speak and act arbitrarily and hurt people. It is not what the people of this country want,Mihintale Raja Maha Vihara Chief Prelate Ven.Walawahengunawewe Dharmaratna Thera said.


 The prelate said this during the visit of State Minister Ajith Nivard Cabraal before taking up the post of the Governor of the Central Bank (CB). 

Ven. Walawahengunawewe Dharmaratna told the Minister, "What happens at the end of the day is, that people start making complaints."


The President may be having a special trust in you to appoint you as the CB Governor. This was not something thing that was in our mind. 


The current government should fulfill the requirements of the people.  During the discussion, the State Minister agreed with Ven. Dharmaratna Thera's statements.


 "This government was not elected by a single person, it was a collective decision of the people of this country who gave their consent to elect this government to power," he added.
