Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene yesterday confirmed that the party leaders have decided to take up a two-day debate on the presidential address, on January 18, 2022.   
Speaker Abeywardene said it would be an adjournment debate.   

Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella and UNP MP Ranil Wickremesinghe requested a debate on the speech which will be made by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on January 18 when he will ceremonially open Parliament sessions on that day.
