The Railway Department will operate a special express train service every Saturday to facilitate tourists and pilgrims travelling to Anuradhapura from Colombo Fort.   

The train will leave for Anuradhapura every Saturday and return to Fort on Sunday.  

The train would consist of 10 first-class air-conditioned compartments with 480 seats.  

The fare for one-way journey will be Rs. 2,500, the department said.
