Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will include both Sri Lanka and the Maldives on his itinerary this time. 
His visit will be preceded by his tour of African countries- Eritrea, Kenya and Comoros from January 4 to 7, 2022.  Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian announced that the Chinese Foreign Minister starts every New Year with a visit to Africa. After the conclusion of this visit, he will visit Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
