• The entire team handling the economy should be changed

Sri Lanka is facing an inflation tsunami today the time it is commemorating the 17th Anniversary of the real tsunami, an SJB MP said yesterday.    

SJB MP Eran Wickramaratne told a press conference that Sri Lanka’s inflation has increased by more than 10 per cent during the last three years. “The inflation has increased to more than 11 per cent during the month of November alone,” the MP said.   

“Inflation has not increased this much in any other country. Therefore one cannot put the blame on COVID-19 pandemic,” he added.   

“The whole team which is handling the economy should be changed. 

Handling of the economy should be vested with most suitable people who have the ability,” he also said.
