  • Israel to provide job opportunities in agriculture sector for Sri Lankans staying in Israel  even after visa expires

A special programme is underway to provide visas for Sri Lankans staying in Israel without a valid visa or with expired visas, the Sri Lankan ambassador in Israel said.  
Ambassador Nimal Bandara stated that the Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel yesterday conducted a programme to gather information of Sri Lankans staying in Israel without a valid visa and it will continue today as well (25).    

The Director General of Israel Immigration and Emigration Department and three senior officials visited the Sri Lankan Embassy to discuss the matter to grant visas to Sri Lankans who are without visas and Sri Lankans in other sectors and to renew the visas of Sri Lankans staying in Israel after their visas expire, following a request made by the ambassador.  
Also, the Israel officials agreed to provide job opportunities, which are available in the agriculture sector for Sri Lankans staying in Israel even after the visa expires.  
He also said that a large number of Sri Lankans participated in yesterday’s programme.
