• Former Mayor had allegedly demolished a bridge, which had been constructed using public funds

SLPP MP Madura Withanage alleged that it has taken eight years for a state investigation unit to issue indictment on former Mayor of Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Municipal Council Janaka Ranawaka.   

“I made this complaint against the former Mayor who had allegedly demolished a bridge, which had been constructed using public funds for personal reasons. I lodged a complaint on it in 2013 and it had taken eight years to serve indictment on the suspect,” Mr. Withanage said.   

“People have lost faith on investigation units and on law enforcement agencies because of waste of time,” he added.
