The Central Committee of the Sri Lanka Railway Station Masters’ Union (SLRSMU) has decided to launch a 24-hour token strike starting last night.

The union said the token strike will be launched against offering the position of Deputy General Manager (Commercial) to a person who has been accused of corruption.
The union central committee held an emergency meeting to discuss the issue and decided to launch an immediate 24-hour token strike against this appointment.

Accordingly, all station masters have decided to withdraw from all services as of midnight yesterday.
