Stray dog runs amok at COVID-19 treatment centre Three women at the Centre were bitten

A stray dog which entered a Covid-19 treatment centre at Kosnilgoda Hospital at Morawaka in the Matara district had bitten three women patients.   

At the time of the incident, 38 people, including 18 overseas returnees were receiving treatment at the centre. Some patients had stood on their beds and screamed for help as the stray animal moved menacingly.   
Some patients have ended their treatment process and were ready to go home.   


It is learned that the members of their families were also at the hospital premises at the time of the incident.   
The dog was chased out of the centre by the hospital staff and others.
