• Deceased is a 40-year-old married man

The owner of a garage on Hetti Veediya in Weligama has been stabbed to death by a worker and the suspect has been arrested for questioning, Weligama Police said.   They said the murder took place on Tuesday morning following an argument.   

The victim was rushed to the Weligama District Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The deceased has been identified as a 40-year-old married man residing in the Weligama area. The suspect is a 41-year-old resident of Ahangama.   The suspect was arrested by OIC, Crimes Division Sub Inspector M.A.P. G. Nandasiri on the instructions of Weligama HQI D.M. Abeysekera.  

Weligama Police are taking steps to produce the suspect before the Matara Magistrate’s Court.
