Tamil Nadu Siva Sena to construct replica of Thirupathi Kovil in Chilaw

Tamil Nadu based religious groups have come out with a plan to construct a Hindu Temple similar to the famous Indian Thirupathi Kovil in the city of Chilaw in North Western province of Sri Lanka.   Founder of Tamil Nadu Siva Sena Trust K.Sasikumar, and a businessman J. N. Jahath Ramjee announced their plan over the week end.   

“ We have looked for a plot of land attached to the Munneswaram Kovil in Chilaw. We intend to seek the Sri Lankan government’s approval for the same. We will be able to build the temple within two and a half years if we get the Sri Lankan government’s approval, Sasikumar told local journalists.  


The group revealed that they will also obtain the blessings of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
