President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in a new gazette notification has included new members to the Presidential Task Force for One Country, One Law and has amended its terms of reference.
Accordingly, Ramalingam Chakrawarthy Karunakaran, Yogeswari Patgunarajah and Iyyampillai Dayanandaraja have been appointed as new members of the Task Force.
According to the new gazette notification, the terms of reference of the said Task Force has been amended as Presenting proposals for formulating a conceptual framework ideally suited for Sri Lanka after making a study of the said concept taking into account the views and opinions held by various parties with regard to the implementation of the concept: “One Country, One Law”.
He said that the new gazette was issued taking into consideration the representations made by various parties with regard to the composition of the membership and Terms of Reference of the said Task Force and focusing on the need for the pluralistic character and gender equity of the Sri Lankan Society to be reflected in the composition of the membership of this Task Force.
The Task Force headed by Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera included Professor Shanthi Nandana Wijesinghe Esquire, Weerawardhanalage Sumedha Manjula Esquire, Senior Lecture, N.G. Sujeewa Panditharathna Esquire, Iresh Seneviratne Esquire, Attorney-at-Law, W.P.J.M.R. Sanjaya Bandara Marambe Esquire, Attorney-at-Law, R.A. Eranda Kumara Nawarathne Esquire, Pani Wewala Esquire, Moulavi M.Z.A.S. Mohomad (Bari) Esquire President, Ulama Council, Galle, Kaleel Rahuman Esquire, and Abdul Azeez Mohamed Nizardeen Esquire.
