Teacher consumes 25 panadols for not getting permanent appointment

A teacher who was frustrated for not getting a permanent appointment had consumed 25 Panadol pills and is in a critical state, MP Dayasiri Jayasekera informed Parliament yesterday.  

MP Jaysekera therefore requested the Education Minister to resolve the issues pertaining to teacher appointments.  


Subject Minister Susil Premajayantha who responded pledged that vast reforms will be introduced in teacher training and appointments. “We will combine all teacher training colleges and set up a Teacher Training University. A four year training programme will be introduced by this new university,” the Minister said.
