A group of Thai veterinary specialists have taken blood samples from the Thai Tusker at Dalada Maligawa, Professor of the Peradeniya Veterinary Faculty Dr. Asoka Dangolla said.
The professor said it is unethical to get samples of the elephant. “The action of Thai experts is suspicious. They called me for a discussion, but I declined to participate as they did something unethical,” Dr. Dangolla said.

However Thai Embassy had refuted the claims.
