People are expected to rise up on their own without the influence of any political party by Sinhalese New year, an SJB MP said yesterday. 

SJB MP Dr. Rajitha Senaratne told a press conference that there will be an uprising as the Sinhalese New year draws near. " The intelligence reports have revealed that there will be an uprising soon. This will take place as the Sinhalese New year draws near as people would not afford to fulfill their increased demands during the festive season" the MP said.

"The rising cost of living will push the nation into further crisis. " Prices of essential drugs have increased while a price of a gas cylinder had exceeded Rs 4000," he said. The MP alleged that country's reserves are down to dollars 500 million while gold reserves have declined to just two tons," he alleged.
"One cannot see any relief as even an IMF bailout will come in eight months' time," he said.
