• Pledges to create a Silicon Valley revolution in Sri Lanka

Those who say SJB is not capable of overcoming challenges faced by the country are saying so with jealousy,  Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said yesterday.  

Addressing a ceremony held in connection with donating IT equipment to a rural school in Medawachchiya, Mr. Premadasa said he would challenge those who are jealous of him to prove that they can also work with him.  

“I also invite those who are jealous and criticise the Sakwala and Husma programmes carried out by me to come and work with me to get rid of the digital divide that is prevailing in the country. I also request them to get rid of their jealousy and cruelty,” he said.  

Mr. Premadasa pledged to create a Silicon Valley revolution in Sri Lanka and to create million dollar and billion dollar businesses in Sri Lanka in order to resolve the FOREX crisis. 

 
Also he said he had already begun this revolution through the Sakwala programme under which IT equipment are distributed among the needy schools in the rural areas.
