Thousands of pilgrims and tourists journeying to Sri Padastana had travelled by train to Hatton during the first weekend holidays after commencing the Sri Pada season on Saturday(18).

However, they expressed concern about the hardships experinced by  them for want of buses to proceed to Nallathanniya or Maskeliya. Railway officials said the Railway- SLTB coordinated service was not in operation as scheduled.
