Three persons were buried alive after a mound of earth collapsed on them in Madawala in the Wattegama Police area of Kandy, the police said.   

They said the earth-slip occurred last evening at Madige village in Urunepana, Wattegama while the workers were building a protective wall on a landslide-prone mound.   

The injured person was admitted to the National Hospital, Kandy.
