Torture and nailed to cross for defaming friend on FB Two arrested with five swords

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction, torture and nailing of two persons to a cross in a highly torturous manner for sharing a defamatory post against an individual on Facebook.

The STF (Special Task Force) personnel in Kandy arrested the suspects along with 


five swords.  The Balagolla Police have launched an investigation after the two victims were abducted and tortured by nailing to a cross by the suspect along with several others on June 25.  


According to the police, the main suspect is a 30-year-old man named Dushmantha, who runs a devalaya in Ampitiya and another area.  


The two victims,  a 44-year-old man from Polgolla and a 38-year-old resident of Bomiriya, Kaduwela who had gone through this excruciating experience are currently receiving treatment at the Kandy Hospital.  


The arrested suspects were handed over to the Kandy Police, the STF said.
