A  German youth had fallen down the Kithalelle falls in Ella and succumbed to his injuries last evening. 
Police said that the lone tourist had climbed up the waterfall and moved about viewing the surrounding area and may have slipped and fallen to his death.

The identity of the victim had not been established at the time this edition went to press . A senior police official said the body was found lying on a boulder about 150ft below and they were in the process of retrieving the body and referring it to the JMO Badulla hospital for postmortem examination after the preliminary magisterial inquiry.
Ella police are conducting further investigations.
