Tourists protest against hotel in old post office

Expresses concern about losing lovely and attractive national heritage sites in this manner

A group of foreign tourists yesterday staged a protest against the government’s decision to lease the Nuwara Eliya post office building for a hotel.   
They said they were surprised to learn about the decision from posters and banners displaced in front of the post office by organisations protesting against it. They expressed concern about losing lovely and attractive national heritage sites in this manner.   
The tourists pointed out that Sri Lanka had a host of tourist hotels all over the country and that the historic buildings should not be converted to hotels.
