Tusker Muthuraja to be flown to Thailand on July 2

 Aluthgama Kande Vihara tusker “Muthuraja” is to be taken to Thailand to provide treatment for an ailment in one of its limbs.   


 The tusker Muthuraja was one of the baby elephants received from Thailand during the time of President Chandrika Kumaratunga. One of the calves had been donated to Kelaniya temple and the other to Kande Vihara in Aluthgama and named as Muthuraja.   


 Chief Incumbent of Aluthgama Kandevihara Temple Ven. Kokkavita Vipulasara Thera said the tusker would be flown to Thailand on July 2 for treatment on the request of the Thai government.   

 Meanwhile the Chief Incumbent of Kandevihara temple and a group of resident monks of the temple who loved tusker Muthuraja, yesterday visited the Dehiwala Zoo, where he is under their care, before leaving the country, and fed him with fruits.
