• Later released as there was no criminal intention   
• The suspects had planned to photograph the area from Malwatta temple to Asgiriya temple

Two Chinese who attempted to fly a camera drone illegally from the road in front of Malwatta temple in Kandy yesterday were arrested by police. However, they were released later upon interrogation since there was no criminal intention.   

A police team from Kandy Police rushed to the scene on information from an officer on duty near Malwatta temple and arrested the two suspects and seized the drone.    

Investigations revealed that the suspects had planned to photograph the area from Malwatta temple to the Asgiriya temple.   

 However, police said the two men were questioned at length and found that they were not planning on committing any crime. They were severely warned and released.
