A Sub Inspector and a PC of the Udappuwa Police received stab injuries when they visited a scene of a crime to conduct investigations. 

Police said two individuals who attended a party in a poultry farm at Sinnakolaniya area on Sunday night (10) had assaulted the owner of the farm and three others with sharp weapons causing them serious injuries and damage to property. 

The police had visited the scene in response to a complaint received by the police emergency service 119 to find that the suspects had fled from the scene. However, the police had rushed the injured to the hospital and returned. 
A little while later the police had received information of another clash there, the two police officers had visited the scene only to be assaulted with sharp weapons allegedly by suspects involved in the previous incident. 
A police team that rushed to the scene admitted the two police officers who had received serious injuries to hospital and arrested the two suspects. 

Udappuwa Police are conducting further investigations with the Police SOCO unit.
