UNESCO board of directors Susil Premajayantha elected for second time



  • He was elected to the post, receiving 188 votes from 144 countries in the Asia-Pacific region

Education Minister Susil Premajayantha has been elected to the UNESCO Board of Directors in the voting held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France yesterday.   
He was elected to the post, receiving 188 votes from 144 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.   


Accordingly, Sri Lanka will have the opportunity to represent the country from 2024 to 2027.   


Minister Premajayantha was elected for the post in 2008 as well.   


Electing Minister Premajayantha for the post for the second time is very special for Sri Lanka.
