  • UNP questions Govt. on a move to stop PCR tests next week

The United National Party ( UNP) yesterday questioned the government on the reports that there is a move to stop PCR tests next week.

“The government should either dismiss this report or confirm it,” UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara told a media conference.

“The Government should also state as to how many PCR machines are in operation in Sri Lanka and whether new machines have been ordered,” he added.

“One must realise that PCR tests are useful as these help determine the areas where COVID-19 is spreading fast, “ he added.   Also he reiterated that the government should go for an islandwide lockdown for two weeks in order arrest the spread of the pandemic.
