The health guidelines to be observed by people during the upcoming Sinhala - Hindu New Year season would be issued in the near future, Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena said yesterday.  

“People are getting ready to celebrate the Sinhala - Hindu New Year. However, they should be mindful of the fact that Sri Lanka is not out of the woods yet in terms of the COVID-19 situation,” he said.  

“Therefore, he requested people to restrict their movement and limit celebrations adhering to basic health guidelines, so that there won’t be any risk of emerging COVID clusters in future,” he pointed out.
