Two opposition MPs Nalin Bandara Jayamaha and Wasantha Yapa Bandara were suspended from sessions after an uproar which flared up in Parliament yesterday.
The two MPs were suspended for rushing towards the chair and shouting at Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapaksa. The MPs banged the table where the deputy speaker was sitting.

The incident broke out minutes after the Deputy Speaker ordered the removal of MP Nalin Bandara. The Deputy Speaker suspended the sittings at that time.
A large group of MPs also rushed to the chair trying to stop the two MPs. Yapa Bandara very nearly engaged in physical fisticuffs with State Minister Chamara Sampath Dassanayake. “Why should a learned person like you act in this manner,” Dassnayake was heard saying.   A group of children from a Daham Pasala in Welioya and some foreigners who were in the gallery were removed at that time.
As Bandara started making allegations on some MPs from the SLPP, when ruling party MPs including Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardene reminded the Deputy Speaker that no one can make speeches and cast allegations during the oral question time.
