The Government has decided to make vaccination card mandatory from September 15.  Accordingly, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said it is mandatory for people over 30 years of age to carry vaccination cards when visiting public places from September 15.

He said the decision was taken in the COVID meeting convened last morning under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

It is expected to fully vaccinate the target population by the first week of September.  As of now, over 98 per cent of the target population has received the first dose while nearly 30 per cent has been offered with both doses.
