Vaccine roll-out with Pfizer to commence

The government will start vaccination of people with Pfizer jabs tomorrow, State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Prof. Channa Jayasumana said yesterday.    

Sri Lanka received 26,000 doses of Pfizer vaccines manufactured in the United States as a commercial purchase.   Prof. Jayasumana told Daily Mirror, Sri Lanka was the first country in South Asia to get such vaccines as a commercial purchase. Countries such as the Maldives, Bangladesh and Bhutan received Pfizer vaccines as donations from COVAX.
