People from the indigenous community in Dambana are facing the threat of COVID-19. A senior official of the Mahiyangana MOH office said 115 people in the village had been subject to antigen tests to find 44 of them infected.

He said Vedd a Leader Vannila Ettho’s wife and brother were among those infected and that the woman had been admitted to the Mahiyangana hospital while the others had been quarantined in their homes.
