Medagoda played a leading role in Sri Lanka’s first teledrama Dimuthumuthu in 1983 and also acted in few other teledramas such as Kadulla and Nadi Geethaya. He acted in movies such as Karumakkarayo, Valampuri and Sathkulu Pauwwa.  Medagoda was an old boy of St. Anthony’s College Kandy.
