Nildandahena – Walapone Road had been obstructed by a rockslide which occured at Pussalapitiya yesterday due to the torrential rains experienced in the Walapone area in Nuwara Eliya. 

 
Assistant Director of District Disaster Management Center (DMC) Ranjith Alahakoon said the RDA and the Walapone Police had cleared a part of the obstruction and allowed traffic to operate on one lane after about three hours.   

He said steps would be taken to remove the remaining rocks and open the road for traffic after the inspection by the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO).
