• The suspect was arrested with a hand grenade at Konkadawala in Ambanpola

An organised criminal and drug trafficker known as Manawaduge Asanka Maduranga alias ‘Parippuwa’ has been arrested by the Special Task Force during a special operation.   

Following an alert, a team of STF personnel including the OIC of the Intelligence Division Nadeeka Silva under the direction of STF Commanding Officer DIG Waruna Jayasundara, arrested the suspect with a hand grenade at Konkadawala in Ambanpola.   

STF said the Colombo Magistrate’s Court had issued an arrest warrant against the suspect.   

It has been revealed that the suspect was wanted over the murder of a man in a three wheeler at the Maliban Junction in Ratmalana in 2019. Also, the suspect was wanted over several other criminal activities in Sedawatta and Wellampitiya areas.
