The water tariff will have to be increased if the electricity tariff is increased due to the increase in fuel prices, Water Supply Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara said.  

He said discussions on this were held with the relevant sections. 

The fuel price increase is not an issue for the water supply system, but it will be an issue if the electricity tariff is increased, he said. 

He said, if somehow, the electricity tariff increases, they need to find a way to balance the expenses.
