The ‘aragalakaruwo’ who stormed the Prime Minister Secretariat and took control of it amidst a mini war of firing tear gas yesterday morning, implored from thousands of visiting people not to cause any harm public property as they won it with blood, sweat and immense commitment for a better cause.  

The protesters who were managing thousands of people flocking to the Prime Minister’s Office at Flower Road in Colombo 07 to see the captured building, were seen imploring the visitors to refrain from harming or inflicting damage to the property in a similar manner to what had happened at the Presidential Palace in Fort and the Temple Trees.  


One of the top rung protesters who was seen making a public statement on the national television channel Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) yesterday morning was seen addressing large crowds at the PM’s office and requesting the people to be careful when viewing the premises.  


“We achieved this victory with much difficulty of blood, sweat and commitment. This aragalaya is a people’s victory of this country. Do not destroy the public property of this place as they don’t belong to the so called rulers, but only to the citizens of this country,” he said.  


“Enjoy your tour of visiting this place by viewing as much as you please. But don’t steal, harm or damage any thing as it will cost us and not the selfish and disgusting politicians of this country,” he went on amidst crowds cheering in accordance.
