Whilst ruling out a new multiparty government, Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa yesterday pledged to form a Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) administration with a fresh mandate.   

“ We will form our own SJB government comprising 113 SJB MPs with a fresh mandate. Do not show us carrots in the form of Premiership, state and deputy ministers as we will not accept any of these.  

“ Be ready to chase the Rajapaksa’s and others who robbed public funds away from this country and to grab all the properties they have stolen from the public,” he added.  

“ We will also bring all those who robbed public property to book,” he also said.   The protest began opposite Fort Railway station while a section of the crowd walked towards President’s House down Lotus Road.
