Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarian Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe’s son was arrested and released over an accident that occurred in Rajagiriya on Monday night in which four individuals were injured, Police said.  

The particular vehicle involved in the accident had been driven by Mr.Wijeyadasa’s son, Rakitha Rajapakshe.  Police said the injured people were receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital and Rakitha Rajapakshe was arrested while he was receiving treatment at a private hospital. 

He was released on a personal bail of Rs. 100,000 after being produced in the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
