Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa left the country yesterday morning for a two-day visit to India, which political sources termed as a ‘private visit’, the Daily Mirror learns. 

The Prime Minister left for Thirupathi to visit the temple and seek blessings and will return on Saturday. He was accompanied by his wife. 


When contacted, officials from the Prime Minister’s office, confirmed the visit and said it was a private visit and therefore no state funds had been used for it.
