A 13-year-old girl had sustained cut injuries when an unidentified gang forcibly cut the hair off her mother’s head in Urani, Thondaimanaru on Tuesday, the Valvettithurai Police said.

The gang had broken into the house to chop off the hair.  The woman was living alone with her three children as her husband was working abroad, the Valvettithurai Police said.
The motive behind the attack was not known, police said. The Valvettithurai Police are investigating following a complaint lodged by the victim.
