The LGBTQ community of Sri Lanka paraded the streets in Colombo yesterday and took part in a cultural ceremony to voice their rights and concerns, which was themed as ‘Freedom Pride Parade’.

A couple of hundred participants clad in various colourful outfits took part in the parade, which began from Nelum Pokuna round-about and proceeded through Green Path to Kollupitiya.

The participants demonstrated posters and placards bearing various messages including demanding the Government of Sri Lanka to release Natasha Edirisooriya, who was remanded recently for her comments at a standup comedy.

The parade which was organized by the Generation Pride concluded at the CMU auditorium with a cultural show.
