A leopard that roamed into the Logy estate in Lindula and frequenting a slope, had crashed into a house below through the roof.
Wildlife officers said the leopard giving chase to track down a dog had missed its target and fallen into the house through the roof.
It had charged at one of the estate workers that rushed to the scene to catch a glimpse of it, causing him serious injuries. He was admitted to Lindula divisional hospital and transferred to Nuwarta Eliya General Hospital.
A team of wildlife conservators under Medical Officer of the Randenigala Veterinary Hospital Dr. Akalanka Pinidiya and officers of the Lindula police, erected a protective fence and tranquilised the leopard before it was taken out safely with great difficulty.
Dr. Pinidiya said the leopard would be released to a forest reserve.
