(SLC) - Sri Lanka head coach Chris Silverwood has stepped down as the coach of Sri Lanka after their disastrous T20 World Cup 2024 campaign.

Silverwood has cited personal reasons behind his decision to resign from the position of head coach of Sri Lanka.

The biggest joke is all these coaches and consultant coaches annual payments were well above a private companies annual ROI end of day a simple regaination email serves everything!!!! Just like that. SL cricket has already become a corrupt place and it is not a place for the gentlemen like Chris to deal with. We have mediocre talented, but highly inflated and super-arrogant bunch o cricketers who match their administrators well. The overall system must be changed from top to bottom!

Coaches must be allowed to coach and managers must be allowed to manage. Constant interference at every level by every Tom Dick and Harry at SLC and ministerial levels by people who have barely handled a cricket ball in their lives want to put in their ‘two cents’ all the time. Sri Lanka’s cricket is a sad reflection of the warped administrative and political structures we have in this country. It’s time that professionals run the administration with complete independence from ‘commission vultures’ with clearly set milestones and objectives towards a path to recovery. Where there is money there are vultures and SLC is full of such garbage.

Sri Lanka's early exit in the T20 world cup was always on the cards. As long as we played against Afghanistan and Bangladesh and won as the ideal preparation for the tournament everyone was happy and had big dreams of being crowned world champions. When the team eaw the big boys India Australia England and South Africa waiting for the kill the players must have panicked and the coach knew his time was up and it's time to resign.
