The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Sri Lanka is hosting its first Principals’ Forum under the theme ‘The New Age Education’ today at Hilton Colombo Residences from 9:00 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m.

With the aspiration to build a platform for participants to share and exchange ideas, experiences and key insights on a wide range of topics related to school education, the forum will gather principals from leading national, international and private schools in Sri Lanka.
The three guest speakers – University of Sri Jayewardenepura Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) Board of Management Director and Chairman Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri, Karapitiya Teaching Hospital Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr. Udena Attygala and MAS Active Group Director HR Damitha Dharmasena – will speak on three different timely topics that will enlighten the participants to respond to the enormous challenges faced by schools due to an increasingly complex society and a rapidly changing technology-based
education system.

The discussions will also focus on child and adolescent development and how to support growth in various domains - cognitive, social, physical
and emotional.

CIM SL Educational Services Manager Onalie Dissanayake shared her views on the Principals’ Forum: “As an educational institute, our key objective is to bring together the primary decision-makers in schools and to educate the same with the issues and trends in newage education.  I believe it will be an interesting session as the issues and trends will be analysed from three different perspectives as each speaker represents three different fields: tertiary education, psychiatry and corporate field.”

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK is the world’s largest professional body for marketing. CIM Sri Lanka is the first international branch of CIM UK comprising the largest number of members, both professional and students of CIM outside the UK: 1,800 student members and over 2,000 professional members respectively. The regional institute has always campaigned for greater recognition and excellence in the marketing profession in Sri Lanka, through education, training and professional development.
