It was a star-studded night of glitz and glamour when the best sales personnel of Sri Lanka Insurance (SLI) were recognised and rewarded for their outstanding performance during the year 2016.
The Star Awards 2017 was held at the BMICH recently amidst much splendour to honour the company’s top achieving sales force.
The Star Awards is organised annually by SLI to honour and recognise the excellence and outstanding performances of its sales team. Over 500 of the best achievers in all categories of Life, Motor and Non-Motor were honoured with certificates, plaques and awards at the event.
The Chief Guest at the event was Public Enterprises Development Minister Kabir Hashim. Over 1,500 SLI personnel including Chairman Hemaka Amarasuriya, Joint Managing Directors T.M.R. Bangsa Jayah and Aruna Siriwardhana, the corporate management, sales advisors and employees were in attendance at the event.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Amarasuriya said SLI has a long-term plan in place to drive the company forward, in which branch expansion and investments in the IT sector play a leading role.
The Star Awards night saw 515 Best Insurance sales performers and team leaders being awarded for their outstanding sales achievements. Achieving the sales targets set for them while maintaining high standards throughout were the basis for their recognition.
Best Regional Sales Managers, Sales Managers, Team Leaders and Insurance Advisors were recognised under the respective business categories, while the best of the best under each category received awards and plaques as well. The event also felicitated members of the achievers’ clubs, Platinum Star Club and Platinum Club, while the 60-member delegation who were selected for the international Million Dollar Round Table conference held in Florida, USA in June 2017 were also awarded at the ceremony.
While congratulating the achievers, Min. Hashim described SLI as one of the best profit-making ventures coming under the portfolio of his Ministry and said the company can aspire to achieve even greater heights in future. He said with the anticipated GDP growth, the demand for life insurance is also expected to grow, for which players in the market such as SLI should be ready.
