Government Printing Department website, police youtube channel hacked

The official website of the Government Printing Department has reportedly been hacked, the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) said.

They said that their team is conducting further investigations into the incident.

Preliminary findings indicate that an external party had gained unauthorised access to the website and altered its data.

Earlier reports also revealed that the official YouTube channel of the Sri Lanka Police had similarly been taken over by an external party.

Meanwhile, CERT reported that the official YouTube channel of the Sri Lanka Police has been taken over by an external party.

The public was informed of this incident through the official Facebook account of the Sri Lanka Police.

It was further stated that steps are being taken to restore the YouTube channel as soon as possible.

The Sri Lanka Police also expressed regret over the unauthorized activities occurring on the YouTube channel, which are beyond their control in the current situation
