Due to a shortage of coconuts in the country, it is reported that half a coconut is being sold at a price between Rs. 100 and Rs. 120.

In the Baddegama area, the price of a whole coconut is between Rs. 180 and Rs. 200, while smaller-sized coconuts are being sold at Rs. 160.

However, authorities claimed that a significant portion of the coconut harvest has been lost due to damage caused by toque monkeys and giant squirrels.

No worries. After winning all the local authorities, county would be rich and prosperous. Also as immediate steps - the so called ‘luxury’ vehicles would be sold, a legislation to bring back ‘stolen money’ ( Uganda LoL!) and Rs. 6000/- for school children would be given. Enjoy the season folks!

Lmao!!! Kata Pereta rata walata!! This is the best thing that could have happened to SL!! This is the ONLY way people learn that y look have to appoint qualified people with real world experience to positions. Just voting for guys who can talk big on a political stage is not enough.

why do the government allow land selling real estate companies to develop the coconut lands and sell them.better if government can cultivate coconut with the help of agricultural ministry and the coconut development authority.

Stop blaming the previous government. You didn't come to power by promising buying land and cultivating coconuts. What happened to the promises you made saying that people were in their last hours of suffering?
