Harin threatens to resign over claims of cricketers partying in nightclubs

Colombo, June 24 (Daily Mirror) - Minister of Sports Harin Fernando said today that he will resign from his position if claims of Sri Lankan cricketers partying late at night in US nightclubs during the T20 World Cup were substantiated.

During a media conference held at the Presidential Media Centre (PMC), Fernando responded to accusations made by a former minister regarding the conduct of the cricketers.

"A former minister recently claimed that the cricketers were partying late at night. However, if anyone can prove and show me any footage of cricketers partying in nightclubs or anywhere, I am ready to resign," he emphasized.

During the covid 19 also players found out doors after time drinking and smoking on the side ways of the streets in England and one was in custody after going behind women in Australia. Where the hell is discipline for this team. There about a dozen officials but no one to look into discipline.

Mr. Minister Why should you resign, you are the subject Minister of Sports, you are not the Manager or the Administration, if anyone should resign it should be the Team Manager if he had not been able to control these players who were representing the country. If found guilty if partying please sack the players and bring in new batch of players who are willing to play for the country and bring glory. The sacked players can ho and play franchise cricket as that's they want to play due to huge pay packets, once they lose the national contracts these Franchisees wont take them. Mr. Minster the best thing you can do is not resign but get to the bottom and get rid of the corruption you will be the bad person like the previous Minster. All the best Mr. Minister.

The great country where people threaten to resign high office but never do! Was he ever questioned how his father knew of the sad Easter massacre beforehand? Guilt and shame should have kept him away from politics. But no! He chose to follow another who suffers from narcissism and entitlement syndromes and mess what may have been RW’s second presidential campaign! At least the latter would then have known where he truly stood in Lankan politics, but he doesn’t seem to have learned much from the 2020 general election result!
