JVP has come to power with face of NPP: Wimal
Colombo, September 30 (Daily Mirror) - The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), now in power as the National People's Power (NPP), has evolved, and the distinction between the JVP and the NPP is clear, former MP Wimal Weerawansa said.
Speaking to the media, Weerawansa expressed his belief that the NPP will take steps to improve the country.
"As the JVP was my former party, we have no objections to the current government's efforts to uplift the nation," he said.
He added that every new government enjoys a honeymoon period, as seen with the Gotabaya Rajapaksa administration, but the true nature of the government will reveal itself in time.
