RW has failed in few sectors but he was able to make the economy stable after Gota ruined it. Did you forget the fuel queues, gas shortages and queues. Also can you remember the price of goods sky rocketed, all were reduced. For example take some common vehicle parts, some parts were three or four times higher and some items were not available. Once dollar was stabilized, the prices came down sharply almost close to price before the massive inflation. But npp seems to be taking the country again to same bad situation with no plan.

Genius Ranil didnt negotiate anything with the IMF. They told him what the conditions were, and he accepted. He had no other choice. 'Experienced politicians' ran the country for Seventy years, where did it get us?

He actually ran the country very well in the given circumstances. This government should discreetly consult him without making a mockery of the peoples mandate and more importantly running inot a liquidity crisis. RW knows the constitution and the administrative procedures very thoroughly. NPP can continue their policies which need not be bent even if you consult RW and other senior government officials. Yes corruption is a problem but total failure and a state of fire fighting will be very dangerous and unproductive at this moment when we have to build investor confidence.

RW abused the system much more than his famous predecessors and set bad precedents, threatening the judiciary being a case in point. Price reductions and less queues could have been done by any leader with half a brain.
